Small dog members are welcome (but not required) to bring a crate (maximum 14" x 22") from home with bedding inside of it for extra comfort.
You may also want to include an article of clothing, like a T-shirt, with your scent on it. This will help make your dog feel right at home.
Board & Train
Let PSFD's expert staff take the stress out of training your dog! Dog members spend a minimum of two weeks boarding at PSFD's beautiful retreat where they can focus on their daily customized training with PSFD's expert staff. For members who are going on a trip, let us train your dog while you are away. Maximize you dog's PSFD experience with this optional custom add-on to your dog's boarding stay. Board & Train INCLUDES daily Daycare to keep your dog active, socialized and motivated. Dogs can optionally go home on weekends so that we can get important feedback from owners on the dog member's progress. Because we also want dog owners to learn how to maintain the training, PSFD highly recommends that you schedule the two INCLUDED 1 hr Go Home Lessons described below.
Board & Train Go Home Lesson
In order to be most effective, the Board & Train program INCLUDES two 1 hr Private Lessons at our facility. PSFD strongly believes that a large part of the longterm success of dog training is that dog owners learn how to maintain the training, consistently apply it, and incorporate its principles into their everyday life and home environment.

Will Dog Boarding at PSFD Be the Right Fit for My Dog?
Dog boarding can be a wonderful experience for dogs with a compatible temperament. Not all dogs, however, are good candidates for the dog boarding playtime environment. PSFD Boarding includes Daycare, which can be overwhelming and overstimulating and can bring out reactive behaviors in some dogs. Not every dog enjoys interacting with other dogs. Others may be too timid, fearful, or consistently exhibit behaviors that are not compatible with the dynamics of off-leash group play. This does not, by any means, mean that they are "bad" dogs or that you are not a good dog parent. It simply means Boarding with Daycare is not a good fit for their particular personality.
At Progressive School for Dogs we screen all potential dogs with a Meet and Greet that includes a Temperament Check. This gives us a pretty good idea of whether or not the dog is a good candidate for Dog Boarding with Daycare, but is by no means definitive. That's why we carefully monitor new dogs as they interact with the group for the first time. Our top priority is the safety, health, comfort and fun of all dogs entrusted to our care. Should it become apparent that off-leash group play isn't working for a particular dog member, we separate them from the group and provide individualized care.
After one or more overnight stays, it may be determined that the dog is not a good fit for dog group activities like Dog Boarding with Daycare.

Spring Break, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's
We highly encourage PSFD Members to log into the Member Portal and book their holiday boarding early. We tend to fill up well in advance of the holiday and have long waiting lists.
There is a non-refundable $100 deposit per dog during all major holidays with a 3 day minimum stay requirement that will be collected upon time of reservation. Cancellations must be received no later than 10 days prior to your scheduled arrival day or you will be required to pay for any days that we are unable to fill. You are responsible for all dates reserved. We usually have a long waiting list and try our best to fill cancelled dates; however, the shorter the notice the more likely that waiting list members have already made other plans.
Due to the large amount of dogs in our care over the holidays, we are closed for arrivals and departures on the day of the holiday.
Please check the Member Portal when making your reservation for holiday availability and special hours.
